PROGRAMS

Al Muslimoon Program
For boys and girls ages 5 to 7 years old

New to the MYSL this year, this 8-week program provides a fun and educational program for boys and girls ages 5 to 7 years old. This group will be divided by gender (and possibly age dependent upon the number of participants and availability of coaches) and concentrate on skill development and team play rather than competition. All practices/games will take place on Sunday mornings before 12Noon and be held on the MYSL home field at Prince George’s Muslim Association (PGMA) in Lanham, Md.

Al Mutaqoon Program
For boys and girls ages 8 to 12 years old

League play for boys and girls ages 8 to 12 years old will involve skill development and competitive team play. This group will be divided into local masjid teams who will be in charge of arranging and conducting practices at a location of their choice prior to the season opener which will be held on Saturday, March 31. Subsequently, eight weeks of game play will take place on Saturday mornings at the MYSL home field at PGMA with the time dependent upon the number of teams that are participating. Teams will be organized by gender and players assigned by the MYSL in a manner that will ensure equity in skill level and age.

Al Muhsinoon Program
For boys 13 years and above

League play for boys 13 years and above will be designed to enhance existing skills, reinforce sound Islamic character and sportsmanship, and provide an opportunity for highly competitive play. Participants at this level will be divided into local masjid teams who will be in charge of arranging and conducting practices at a location of their choice prior to the season opener which will be held on March 31. Players will be assigned to teams by the MYSL in a manner that will ensure competitive team play. Subsequently, eight weeks of game play will take place on Saturday afternoons at the MYSL home field at PGMA. Insha Allah, as these participants become more proficient with their skills, it is the hope that the MYSL will also be able to field a traveling team (Al Muhajiroon) that would further enhance the boys opportunity at competitive league and tournament play.
